Areas of Interest

Widespread adaptation of whole-genome, high-throughput sequencing has completely transformed genetics, generating tons of biological data that reveal genetic variations are present as single-nucleotide variants, small insertions and deletions, and structural variants. I am interested in integrating variant data with molecular readouts to understand how differences in the composition of genomic loci affect the multiple layers of biology that exist between genetics, expression, and protein translation. We aim to use this information to build a computational model that can infer the impact of variation on molecular processes from sequence alone.
