Areas of Interest

Proteus mirabilis is a Gram-negative bacterium that can cause infections in the urinary tract and bloodstream, among other niches. My research focuses on understanding the transcriptional program that promotes P. mirablis pathogenesis in the urinary tract. I will use a novel genetic screen to identify transcription factors that contribute to the pathogenic transcriptional program in an effort to identify new therapeutic targets.
