Women’s health projects and sustainable partnerships. Dr. Johnson was among those who established the Carnegie Corporation’s ACOG/Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists postgraduate training program in Ghana, which has now trained over 35 OBGYNs who have achieved specialist certification by the West African College of Surgeons. This model, which includes student, resident, and faculty exchange, is now being extended to Ethiopia, Malawi, and other parts of Africa. He was instrumental in linking ACOG with Central and South America professional bodies leading to similar OBGYN programs.
