Biography

Hello! My name is Nadia Hallaj. I am originally from California, but after becoming a Midwest transplant in adolescence I cannot picture myself anywhere else! I attended Marquette University and studied biochemistry which I later used as a high school science teacher back home in Chicago. Afterwards, I stuck around Chicago to earn my medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University.

Since my time in the classroom, I knew that Family Medicine was the specialty for me. I loved the idea of building longitudinal relationships with patients that spanned decades and sometimes generations. I never thought that I would leave Chicago for residency, but I was so excited by the type of training available at Michigan Medicine that I packed my bags! This program combines all the best aspects of academic and community medicine in order to graduate exceptional full-spectrum physicians.

Outside of medicine, I love to spend time outdoors exploring new hiking trails, relaxing at a good breakfast diner, and attempting new craft projects. I am extremely excited to explore Ann Arbor over the next few years and look forward to eventually making it up to the Upper Peninsula to hike!
