Biography
Hello! My name is Max Butler. I grew up and attended medical school in Madison, WI, and I am thrilled to spend the first years of my family medicine career at the University of Michigan! I became inspired to pursue a career in medicine by a variety of experiences and amazing mentors in family medicine and public health. During medical school, I explored all specialties with an open mind, and ended up coming back to family medicine. I resonated with family medicine's unique ability to provide holistic and compassionate care to people of all ages and backgrounds. In addition, family medicine as a specialty has played an important role in advocacy outside the clinic, which is crucial for ensuring the health and wellbeing of our communities. Outside of medicine, I enjoy reading, hiking, running, tennis, volleyball, playing clarinet, and anything to do with lakes (swimming, paddleboarding, skipping rocks -- you name it!).
