Biography

Hi everyone! My name is Leila Eter. I grew up in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, as part of a big Lebanese family. I went to the University of Michigan for undergrad, where I studied Middle Eastern Studies and Biomolecular Science. Before medical school I spent a year in Lebanon working in women’s health and another in Chicago working in refugee resettlement. I went to Georgetown for medical school, where I was a part of the Health Justice Scholars track. I chose family medicine because of its emphasis on health equity and holistic care. My interests within medicine include women’s health, humanitarian medicine, and behavioral health, and I’m so grateful to be at a program that supports these passions! Some things I love outside of medicine include poetry, concerts, and cats.
