Hello! My name is Laurel and I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I grew up learning to water ski, play tennis and, of course, speak with a Minnesotan accent. While living in Minnesota I found a deep love of serving and caring for others and decided to pursue medicine with the hopes of giving back to my community. I attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan for my undergraduate degree. It was a leap of faith to move to Michigan as I knew no one in the entire state, but it has become my home. I then attended the University of Michigan Medical School and found my niche in primary care. Through mentors in college, medical school and at my church I have grown in my desire to serve others through medicine and I am interested in lifestyle medicine and the care of the underserved. I also have an interest in Mindfulness. In my spare time I love to cook, exercise and garden.
