Biography
Dr. Othman earned her medical degree from the University of Cairo, Giza, Egypt (2002), and completed her family medicine residency training at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Mich. (2011).
Board certified in obesity medicine, she works on improving obesity management in primary care. Currently, Dr. Othman collaborates with Michigan Medicine's Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes where she is medical director for the Weight Navigation Program. Also board-certified in geriatric medicine, she has interest in improving geriatric primary care. Dr. Othman provides geriatric consults in outpatient settings with a focus on dementia care and education for healthcare providers and caregivers.
Dr. Othman is a member of Michigan Medicine's COPD ambulatory clinical care guidelines team and she serves on both the family medicine and the COPD quality improvement committees.
She is active in the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians, the American Geriatric Society and the Obesity Medicine Association. And, she is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association's Outreach Committee.
