Biography
Dr. Nypaver is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Emergency Medicine. She is the Co-Director of the Michigan Emergency Department Improvement Collaborative (MEDIC), a statewide collaborative quality improvement program to improve the care of children in emergency departments. Dr. Nypaver has held departmental, institutional, regional and national leadership positions related to her interests in pediatric emergency medical education including contributions to national standards and guidelines for the discipline’s practice, development of the first human patient simulator integration to pediatric emergency medicine training curricula at Michigan Medicine and the use of telemedicine in clinical practice. Her ongoing work is now focused on quality & safety and professional practice. She was the Department of EM Co-Chair of the Peer Review and Promotions & Tenure Committees and Chair of the Michigan Medicine Safe Medical Device Committee focusing on medical equipment related patient safety.
