Biography

Samantha Hendren, MD, MPH is Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Michigan. Dr. Hendren is a colorectal surgeon, who trained at Yale (MD), Rochester (MPH), Penn (General Surgery), and Toronto (Colorectal Surgery).

Dr. Hendren's research focuses on improving the quality of care for colorectal cancer. She also studies the effects of regional collaboration on general surgery outcomes across the state of Michigan. Dr. Hendren also studies cancer health disparities and the quality of life of cancer survivors.  Her research has been funded by the National Cancer Institute and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons Research Foundation.
